William Randolph Hearst
1863-1951

One of the most influential, fascinating American men of the 20th century

Hearst was a journalist and publisher, art collector and builder, civic leader and politician, pioneer motion picture producer and one of California's most famous native sons.

His travels as a young man stimulated an interest in art, architecture and collecting.

This, along with his passion for journalism and photography, was the foundation for William Randolph Hearst's many contributions to American society.
